Fracking near Uluru
Santos and Central Petroleum are exploring for shale gas in the Central Desert of Australia. This includes areas near Alice Springs and Uluru.
In an age of climate change, how far should we go to extract fossil fuels? Should we cover the desert in shale gas wells and frack the outback? Is nothing sacred?
A community group has formed to oppose fracking in Central Australia - Central Australian Frack Free Alliance.

Please respect!! There are alternatives eg lots of sun out there. This breaks my heart as well will poison much needed water! Can we frack around Churches in their back yard? This lack of foresight is going to cost our children a fortune.

Uluru and Central Australia are sacred ground. Fracking is anti-nature, anti-life, and must not be allowed anywhere, least of all in the heart of this country.

This along with the other invasions of Indigenous Lands by mining groups is outrageous!!! NO FRACKING!!!
